Letter From ThePastors & Elders

For more than 50 years, God has allowed Grace Bible Church to participate with Him in drawing men and women from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation into a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. We have seen lives changed for eternity! Yet with so many who remain untouched by the power of Christ, we are confident God is not finished with us yet.

This spring we are embarking on a new season of ministry for Grace Bible Church that we are calling Every Knee. We believe that God is calling us to vastly expand our capacity to help people find and follow Jesus in our own community and throughout the world. In order to fulfill this calling, we believe we have no choice but to listen to God personally and to work together. Each of us will need to grow in our dependence upon the Lord and our willingness to take courageous steps of faith. Until we become more deeply convinced that God is worthy of every knee bowing before Him, and that every man, woman and child can experience life only by bowing before Him, then we will be discontent with life as usual. We will want to discard not only our foolish sins, but we will also devote all that God has given us to the eternally significant work of the Great Commission.

As you will see in the following pages, the scope of what we sense God intends to do through Grace Bible Church in this next season is both overwhelming and thrilling. This is a critical moment in the life of our church. We are praying that every person in our congregation will experience a lifestyle of wholehearted and joyful generosity in the service of Jesus Christ.

Throughout the 50-year history of Grace, followers of Jesus have sacrificially devoted their lives to His service. We are here because of their courage, and we are grateful. And now it is our turn. We pray that the next generation will look back on this moment and thank us for our courage and be inspired to give all to Jesus.

Grace and Peace,

History of Grace

For over 50 years, God has worked mightily in and through Grace Bible Church to accomplish His purposes around the world. He truly is capable of doing immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.

The Beginning
Move to 701
Every Knee
The Beginning - 1965
Grace Bible Church begins with 10 families stepping out in faith.
Move to 701 - 1974
Seeking to better serve the students of Texas A&M, Brace moves closer to TAMU.
Anderson - 1995
With worship services at max capacity, the Anderson campus expands with a new building across the street.
Southwood - 2008
With God making it clear that Grace could no longer effectively reach this community from a single location, Grace multiplies to two campuses.
Creekside - 2015
Seeing the growth taking place in south College Station and the need for Gospel-centered churches in that community, the Creekside campus is born.
Every Knee - 2018
Recognizing the Biblical mandate to continually pursue our neighbors and the nations with the Gospel, Grace undertakes an initiative to engage our entire congregation in the Great Commission.

Our Primary Goal
100% Engagement

Each one of us, and all of us together, experiencing the joy of generously giving to Jesus.

Our Resource Goal

We’ve asked the Lord to show us what kind of impact He wants us to make over the next two years for His glory, and we believe He has identified three areas.

$32 Million over 2 years

  • Every Day
  • Every Neighbor
  • Every Nation
  • everyday

    Every Day

    $12 Million (Operating Budget)

Our church’s operating budget for the next two years supports the ongoing ministries of our church, including staff, facilities, missions, children, youth, college, community outreach and other every day budget items.

  • neighbor

    Every Neighbor

    $18 Million

As Bryan/College Station continues to grow, our hope is that all of our neighbors will have the opportunity to hear and respond to God’s grace in Jesus Christ and to fellowship in a disciple-making community.

    • The Creekside Facility - $16 Million

By 2025, the population of College Station is expected to nearly double, and we see south College Station as a primary place where new growth will happen. In order to serve that area of town, we are praying for $16 million dollars to establish a permanent facility for our Creekside Campus.

    • The Next Campus - $2 Million

As we seek to reach underserved parts of our community, we are in the process of evaluating potential locations for our next campus.

  • nations

    Every Nation

    $2 Million

As a university family church, we have seen the strategic value and power of integrating mature families with students to reach our world for Christ. Throughout our entire history, Grace has joined with like-minded followers of Jesus to share the gospel and plant churches among the nations. By leveraging our existing partnerships both nationally and internationally, we seek to plant one church in the U.S. and another church internationally near strategic university campuses.

Three Ways to Engage

Pray Fervently

that the people of Grace Bible Church will continue to listen to God’s voice as He leads us each into greater participation in the Great Commission.

Give Generously

from the resources God has given you, whether small or great. Let God stretch you toward a new level of generosity and trust as you seek to follow Him.

Celebrate Boldly

and encourage others to engage with God’s vision for them personally and for our church. Communicate your enthusiasm for all that God is going to do in and among us in the next few years.

Grace missionaries, Kyle and Chamila Cox, serve overseas in Greece. They have experienced both the joy of giving generously to Jesus and the joy of receiving the Lord’s provision through His people. Kyle and Chamila cannot wait to see what the Lord is going to do through Grace Bible Church's Every Knee initiative.

Drawn to Grace Bible Church, he began to serve in Youth ministry and was poured into by Youth staff and the Launch Global team. Ian began to see a greater purpose for his time in College Station. “School is important... but the thing I looked forward to was Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, getting to be a part of the youth group.” As a mentor to his Youth kids, he has seen the joy of not just consuming from the church but pouring out for the church. To Ian, “the Church is the place where life is found.”

Originally attending Grace as college students, Steve and Shelly Blomstedt have raised their family in this church and have watched Grace grow from one campus to three. Having helped launch Creekside, they are thrilled to be apart of a congregation committed to reaching our neighbors with the Gospel.

Growing up in an unbelieving home, Kelsey Gibbs visited a church for the first time with a friend's family. After hearing another girl share her testimony, Kelsey found herself saying, "I want to experience that love that she has experienced by God". Now, Kelsey wants to share the Lord's love for her with others.

Mike and Carolyn Gentry have faithfully served at Grace for almost forty years. Serving at Grace has taught them that the Church hasn't been created for their own comfort but for the purpose of multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ throughout the world. They can't wait to see the impact that Every Knee will make.

Attending a worship service at Grace College, Sylvia Titus came to know Jesus. He met her in her brokenness and He told her that she has intrinsic worth. Slyvia wants more people to know the love of Jesus Christ and is committed to giving herself to the cause of Christ.
- Sylvia Titus, College Student
While a student at Texas A&M University a friend invited her to Grace Bible Church. During the worship service Ally noticed the people around her, their physical posture.

“Man, I want to worship a God like that,” Ally recalls. “Why does this God seem so much more alive here?”
- Ally Fraustro
After a lifetime of ministry divorced from community, Enoc joined likeminded believers at Junction — a place where he feels welcome, wanted and known. Now, he lives a countercultural life with the purpose of making disciples to reach the world for Christ.

Julia started walking with the Lord at the end of her college experience. Partaking in one of Grace’s summer mission trips to East Asia after she graduated, her faith grew immensely! Now, she is a full-fledged disciple-maker living and working in the Dallas area.
- Julia Newman, Former Student
Coming to college, Micah did not believe in God. His sense of self-worth was found in fleeting things, and it was all stripped away in his freshman year of college. Walking into Grace College at Southwood, he found a vibrant community filled with a deep joy he couldn’t understand. Now, Micah is a committed believer and leader helping others find and follow Jesus at Texas A&M and Blinn College campuses.
- Micah Stark, College Student
Mark and Teresa Benden established a very successful standing desk company. After selling his business at the start of Every Knee, they have used the profit to establish a charitable trust and are committed to the many ministries of Grace Bible Church through the Every Knee Initiative.

Frequently Asked Questions

If we are committing to Every Knee; how does this change my giving to missions, the general fund, and other special offerings?

During this two-year period, every contribution to God through Grace Bible Church is a contribution to our Every Knee initiative. Every aspect of the ministry vision God is calling us towards for the next two years will be funded through Every Knee. There will not be separate funds. Every gift made will go into the same fund and will be our Every Knee giving. Therefore, every weekend becomes a day to celebrate and contribute towards what God is doing in us and through us to help draw people towards Himself.

What are you asking me to do?

First and foremost, we are asking you to pray and seek God’s leading on what He is asking of you. Spend time in the Word, reflecting on all that God has done and the life that He calls us to. Talk with your spouse, your family, or others about what this commitment will mean for this season of your life. We are asking that you make a sacrificial commitment to gospel-centered generosity. What could God do if you and your family were honoring Him with 100% of the resources that He has given you? We ask that you prepare to be amazed. We serve an absolutely incredible God. He is moving in huge ways, and we anticipate an unprecedented impact from our collective Every Knee commitments — something only God can do. Please mark your calendar for Commitment Sunday, May 6th.

Are there additional ways besides cash that I can give more towards Every Knee?

Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give towards Every Knee. You might have some stocks, property, or other stored resources that God has blessed you with in the past. Please let us know if you need assistance with facilitating gifts of property or stock, and we would be happy to help you with that. You can contact our Finance Director, Debbie Howard at debbiehoward@grace-bible.org to make a gift of this type.

How long is my commitment?

We are asking everyone to make a two-year commitment. The commitment will begin with our Every Knee Celebration and First Give Day, June 3rd, and it will culminate in May of 2020.

What if I don’t have a job right now? What does that mean for my Every Knee commitment?

Every Knee is about your total, radical, sacrificial generosity to God’s mission at Grace Bible Church. We believe that God calls us to action in times of hardship just as much as He does in times of abundance, and that looks different for every person. But Every Knee is about a heart change — one that is only accomplished by surrendering our lives completely over to God in this area of giving. So that may mean that you are being challenged to sell things, to pick up odd jobs, or even to trust God in faith as you seek ways to sacrifice and work towards that commitment. Our primary goal is that 100% of us are a part of Every Knee so that we can all be supporting, loving, encouraging, and praying for one another through this spiritually stretching season at Grace.

What if I am severely in debt right now? Am I still supposed to give?

If you are currently seeking to pay off debt, we commend you for making progress on that. And you should continue to do so. We would be happy to help you in this journey and/or to recommend a budgeting class that might minister to you. Being in debt does not, however, exclude us from giving (2 Cor 8:1-4). Giving isn’t about what God wants from you; rather, it’s about what God wants for you. So it should be our joy and privilege to give at all times. Please contact us if you need assistance with this or if you would like to speak with a budgeting counselor, and we would be honored to help.

What if I have never even given to Grace before?

The Every Knee initiative has been crafted specifically with you in mind. Every Knee is a “one fund” generosity initiative, meaning that it is different from a traditional capital campaign where you are called to give an extra gift above and beyond your normal giving — thus creating two steps for people who aren’t yet giving. Every Knee is a call to sacrificial, gospel-centered generosity for absolutely everyone at Grace. If you have never given before, this is your chance to get in the game with a committed sacrifice.

What if I am new to Grace?

Every Knee is about the vision for our church and our personal discipleship in giving as followers of Jesus. We believe that the local church is one of the most compelling missions to give towards, and we would love for you to make Grace Bible Church your home and join us in Every Knee. If you are ready for it, this is a perfect time for you to put a stake in the ground and make this your church. We need you on the team!

Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth .

- Philippians 2:9-10
